Safe Schools List

Education for many does not stop at high school. Leaving the safety of a hometown or the security of the nest can be scary. That is simply why there are statistics out there that show where the safest schools are.

There are criteria the schools must meet before being considered. Most lists only record the colleges and universities that have more than 6,000 students enrolled. One other qualification is that they must have student housing on campus.

The number one safest school in the US comes out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Cardinal Stritch University. Number three on the list is Long Island University in Brooklyn New York. Odd when we hear the name Brooklyn we think of hard city streets but this listing proves quite the contrary. In the past three years this school has only reported 6 burglaries and no other forms of crime or violence. Rounding out the top ten is Midwestern State University located in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Some may say that these standings are not truthful. This is said due to the fact that the statistics are based solely on reported incidents. Some may not report incidents therefore making them seem far safer than what they are.
